I love superhero comics and I haven't done any superhero fan art in a lonnnnng time. I doodled this from memory at a recent Tai-Pan writer's night while listening to a story being read: it's Iron Man in his classic red and gold armor from the Silver Age era of Marvel Comics.

An old illustration of Seeker and Song from the SEEKER'S QUEST webcomic, back when it was a fanzine serial. I did this with Crafttint paper, which isn't as easy to get these days. This is a special paper with tones built into it; you 'activated' the tones by applying a chemical was to it. Comes out pretty cool. But the paper was expensive, and nowadays you can do it all on computer anyway.

I was a big fan of Paul Kidd's fantasy novels. When he ran his original manuscript of "A Whisper Of Wings" through the Rowrbrazzle APA, I took it on myself to sketch some illos of his story. This was my version of a heartbroken Shadarii being consoled by the spirit of her dead mother. For a change of pace, I did it all with a fine Pilot pen.

Just another pin-up I did some time ago. I was at a convention and thumbing through one of those scenic magazines they have in the hotel rooms, and I saw this really nice pic of a ranch plaza that I thought was interesting. So I incorporated it into a background, and put a casual modest pin-up inside of it.

Another old stab at doing pin-ups. I thought this came out rather well, all things considered, but I pretty much gave up doing pin-up stuff (for the most part) soon after this. My work was started to look too much like a Terrie Smith wannabe, and was getting really hit -and-miss at that; Terrie does a much better job of doing Terrie-style pin-ups than I -- I'm more of a story person than a pin-up artist -- so I needed to step away and rethink my approach to that sort of art. But I still rather liked this one.

Man down! From the story, "Empirical Evidence", by Gene Breshears. Some of the research ship's university students decide to enjoy a summer day on the world they're exploring, only to be struck down by an unknown biological agent. An emergency rescue team is sent in. A black and white version of this was used in the Tai-Pan fanzine.
